A roadtrip to a most unusual underworld, "Shadows of the Damned" drips with style, wit and a cracking soundtrack, yet it sadly plays a lot like a lot of games that have come before it.
"Magic: The Gathering" and "Shadows of the Damned" dominated my week.

"Dead Island's" 5-minute E3 demo doesn't live up to its initial, emotionally engaging trailer, but its visceral combat and battles with flesh-eating zombies in the harsh tropical sun show plenty of promise.
With "Duke Nukem Forever," "Alice: Madness Returns" and "Child of Eden" all hitting this week, we're getting three sequels to games that are more than 9 years old. I'm only recommending two of those sequels, however.
"Duke Nukem Forever's" biggest accomplishment is that, after 14 years, it's finished and gamers can play it. It's also the new first answer to the question, "Why can't I find a girlfriend who'll play video games with me?"
