I've been playing a lot of "Brink" in the run-up to Tuesday's release. I also managed to sneak in some "Bulletstorm" and "Divinity II," among other things.
"Crysis 2" looks stunning, and its controls could revolutionize sci-fi first-person shooters. It's too bad, then, that what should be a fun multiplayer game is undermined by a convoluted, single-player story and level design that fails to match the abilities of the game's supersoldier hero.
Over the past two weeks, I've mostly been playing games I reviewed or intended to review, but I managed to sneak in some "Gears of War 3" beta and start "Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga," a role-playing game that more folks should be talking about.
Anyone who's watched TV this month can tell you that this week is for playing "Dead Space 2," which your mom hates, apparently. (Ugh.) If you're alienated by the "Dead Space 2" ad campaign, or just don't like games that try to scare the pants off you, Take-Two Interactive, parent company of Rockstar Games and 2K Games, has put a whole bunch of its downloadable games and add-ons on sale on Xbox Live.
"Crysis 2" takes aim at the hearts and wallets of "Call of Duty" and "Halo" fans by merging some of the best elements of the two most-popular console first-person shooters.
