E3 Wednesday: 2,144 words about 14 games

I'll be posting more detailed stuff on a lot of these games in the days and weeks to come, but I wanted to get this out there while it's still fresh in my mind.

Headed to E3, big game news ahead

I'll be spending a good chunk of this week in Los Angeles at E3, where I expect to get my eyes and hands on a lot of the new games and hardware we'll be playing with over the next year.

What you should have been playing this weekend (March 5-7)

"Battlefield: Bad Company 2" (rated M, $60 on Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, $50 on PC): Like its closest competitor, "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2," this game features a single-player campaign but is really all about the online multiplayer. The main things this game offers over its rival are [...]

Highlights from Nintendo’s SF media event

On Wednesday, Nintendo had a press-only event in San Francisco, similar in nature to Microsoft's X10 shindig a couple of weeks ago. Unlike X10, I didn't manage to make this event, but here's a quick rundown of some of the announcements we saw. The new DSi XL, which has a [...]

Coulda been a contender

Ahead of my Game of the Year announcement later Thursday and Friday's list of runners-up, here's a look at some games that might have made the cut, if only I'd found time to play them.
