Xbox 360-owning shooter fans are spending the whole weekend playing the new maps for “Call of Duty: Black Ops.” As far as new releases go, it’s slim pickings beyond another retro-style “Bionic Commando Rearmed” game and an add-on pack for “The Sims 3.”

“Call of Duty: Black Ops” (rated M, $60 on Xbox 360, also available on PC and PlayStation 3) [review]: The First Strike Map Pack costs $15 and includes four new multiplayer maps and one new Zombies map. As a big fan of Zombies mode, I’d like to see the downloadable content for the standard multiplayer and Zombies play segregated. I’m unlikely to shell out $15 so that I can play one Zombies map a bunch and four multiplayer maps a tiny bit.

“Bionic Commando Rearmed 2” (rated T, $15 download for Xbox 360 or PS3): The first current-generation reimagining of classic ’80s cult hit “Bionic Commando” was a huge hit. It was also $5 cheaper than this sequel. If you’ve gotta have more “Bionic Commando Rearmed,” this is a great buy, but it might be worth waiting for the inevitable sale.

“The Sims 3” (rated T, $45 on PC, also available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3): Fans of “The Sims” get an extra infusion of new stuff with the release of “The Sims 3 Outdoor Living Stuff” pack for the PC. It adds a bunch of new items to the core game and will set you back $20. That sounds like quite a bit of money for some virtual tchotchkes
